OCU 75, SNU 74
Oklahoma City broke the hearts of the home team with a 75-74 win over Southern Nazarene in the Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball quarterfinals Thursday.
Chontaye Walter scored on a layup for a 73-72 Oklahoma City lead with 31 seconds left but SNU answered when Logan Martin found Lana Keith cutting to the basket for a layup and a 74-73 Crimson Storm lead with 19 seconds to go.
The Stars got a big answer from Freshman of the Year Lauren Gober, who canned a 10-foot jumper for the 75-74 OCU lead. SNU called timeout at midcourt with 2.3 seconds left. OCU stole the in-bound pass to collect the win.
Gober and Starr Fairbanks led the Stars with 17 points apiece while Laura Duncan added 14 and KJ Johnson 13. Lana Keith had a game-high 33 points for SNU with Sharmeda Johnson adding 10.
The Stars, now 27-3, play Lubbock Christian in Friday's 3 p.m. semifinal contest. Southern Nazarene ends its season at 17-14.

OBU 76, NWOSU 33
Oklahoma Baptist had its best defensive effort of the season, holding Northwestern to a season low in scoring with a 76-33 win in the Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball quarterfinals in Bethany Thursday.
OBU opened with the first nine points of the game and later added a 12-0 run to establish a 33-11 lead with 3:34 left in the first half. The Lady Bison closed the half on a 7-0 run for a 40-13 lead at the half.
The lead peaked at 76-31 as OBU completed a 15-2 run with 2:01 left in the game.
Taujhnae Travis and Gabriell Mattox scored 17 each to lead the Lady Bison. Rachel Wilczek led Northwestern with 10.
OBU (29-2) plays Rogers State in the semifinals Friday at 1 p.m. Northwestern concludes its season at 14-17.

RSU 60, OC 55
Rogers State fended off a rally by Oklahoma Christian to claim a 60-55 win in the quarterfinal round of the Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament in Bethany, Okla., Thursday.
Oklahoma Christian trailed by as many as 10 points in the second half and got as close as one, before Rogers State got the offense rolling.
Up 47-46, Rogers State went on a 7-0 run to build the lead to a more comfortable 54-46 with 1:45 left in the game.
RSU enjoyed a 40-30 advantage in rebounding with Yoda Woods bringing down seven to go with her team-best 11 points.
Kailan DeCamp led the Lady Eagles with 21 points.
Rogers State, 21-10, advances to play Oklahoma Baptist or Northwestern Oklahoma State at 1 p.m., Friday, in the semifinals.
Oklahoma Christian exits the tournament with a 19-12 record.

The Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament began with a Texas rivalry as Lubbock Christian and Wayland Baptist went down to the wire before Severyn Smith iced a 68-64 LCU win at the free throw line with 9.2 seconds left.
Brittany Hampton scored 21 points, including a 12-of-14 performance at the free throw line, to lead the Lady Chaps with Smith scoring another 13. Ashley Coggins had five steals.
Jessica Walker had 22 points and six steals to lead the Flying Queens with Alex Williams contributing a dozen points.
Now 20-9, the Lady Chaps will play Oklahoma City or Southern Nazarene at 3 p.m. Friday in the SAC Semifinals.
Wayland Baptist ends its stay in Bethany with a 17-13 record.
