(bracket)
The Sooner Athletic Conference will have five teams in Kansas City for next week's 2010 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship.
Oklahoma Baptist, Southern Nazarene, Oklahoma City, John Brown and Oklahoma Christian are all making the trip.
The tournament begins Wednesday at 9 a.m. and so does the action for the SAC as 16th-seeded Oklahoma City (17-9) takes on Southern Polytechnic State (26-5). A win would give OCU a 10:45 a.m. start on Friday, taking on top-seed Mountain State (26-2) or Bacone (19-12).
On the other side of that quarter-bracket is John Brown (24-9) who will play at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday against eighth-seeded McKendree (27-6). A win would put JBU in the 9 a.m. game on Friday against Campbellsville (26-7) or Fresno Pacific (24-8).
That quarter-bracket semifinal is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
OBU (28-3) takes the floor at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, taking on St. Xavier (23-9). If OBU can get around the Cougars, they have Central Methodist (24-8) or Texas Wesleyan (23-9) waiting for them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. A Bison quarterfinal game would be at 6 p.m. Saturday with Biola (27-5) the favorite to advance from the other side.
Thursday's SAC action begins at 10:45 a.m. with Oklahoma Christian (22-9) taking on LSU-Shreveport (27-5). If the Eagles beat the Pilots, OC would face Olivet Nazarene (19-10) or Lee (26-7) at 12:30 p.m., Friday. OC's quarterfinal game would be at 3 p.m. Saturday with Westminster (26-5) being the favorite to move on as their opponent.
Southern Nazarene (25-7) plays Tougaloo (22-8) at 8 p.m. on Thursday and would play the late game at 9:45 p.m. on Friday with a win. Their second round opponent would be Montana Western (24-9) or Union (26-7). That quadrant's quarterfinal game is at 8 p.m. Saturday and the favorite to get there is Concordia California (30-3).
