Brent Robison and Pedro Gomez
Wayland Baptist right fielder Pedro Gomez and Oklahoma Baptist pitcher Brent Robison have been named Sooner Athletic Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week for March 8-14.
Gomez, a senior from San Juan, Puerto Rico, led the Pioneers to a 3-0 week with a .571 batting and 1.357 slugging average. He had three doubles, a triple and two home runs in three games, including a game-tying three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning of an extra-inning win.
Robison, a senior from Broken Arrow, Okla., tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout against Sterling College with six strikeouts and two walks.
