Oklahoma Baptist has hired Mike Manlapig and Kenny Lindsey to head up its golf teams for the 2010-11 seasons.

Manlapig will coach the Lady Bison, while Lindsey will coach the OBU men.

"I am excited that we are splitting the teams, which is something we felt like we needed to do," said OBU director of athletics Dr. Norris Russell. "Mike helped us as interim coach and connected with the players and he's committed to them. Kenny is a high-energy person and he will recruit well."

Manlapig, a 1994 OBU graduate, has served as assistant to the director of athletics at OBU since 1998 and was named interim men's and women's golf coach in April. He also served as assistant softball coach at OBU from 1996-98. Prior to coming to OBU, Manlapig served as athletic director at Southwest Christian Academy, where he also was head girls basketball, softball and volleyball coach and assistant football coach.

Lindsey is senior pastor at Eastland Hills Baptist Church in Choctaw and a 2003 graduate of Slidell Baptist Seminary. He previously was minister of missions and evangelism at Southern Hills Baptist Church. His son, Chase, is an OBU Golf All-American.
