OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City University faces Missouri in a women's basketball exhibition Nov. 7 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Mo.
Five-time NAIA Division I women's hoops champion OCU took on Missouri once previously in the program's history. The Stars met Texas A&M last season in exhibition play.
Missouri defeated OCU 67-51 on Jan. 20, 1982 in Columbia, Mo., in the only previous meeting between the two schools.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to play a Big 12 school," OCU coach Rob Edmisson said. "This will help us prepare for our upcoming season. We know this will be a great challenge for our team."
OCU went 32-4 and won the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament and a share of the SAC regular-season title. The Stars reached the NAIA Division I Tournament semifinals in 2009-10.
The Stars return all-Americans Donica Cosby and Starr Fairbanks. Cosby, a senior from Coldwater, Miss., averaged 13.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.03 steals, while Fairbanks added 13.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
Missouri posted a 12-18 record last season, falling in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament. Robin Pingeton became the new Tigers coach on April 8.
OCU has captured national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002. The Stars are tied with Union (Tenn.) for the most wins in NAIA women's basketball since 2000-01 at 335 and second to Connecticut nationally in that span.
