Baptist University's Verone Chambers and Evan Shimanek are the first Sooner
Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for
2012.
Chambers, a senior sprinter from Clarendon, Jamaica, set a school record in the 400 meters at the Texas Tech Open, finishing in 54.33. She also had qualifying marks in the 200 (24.78), 55 hurdles (8.11) and 4x400 relay (3:45.25).
Shimanek, junior a pole vaulter from Hennessey, Okla., cleared 12-1.25 to take second in the Texas Tech Open.
