Oklahoma Baptist teammates Verone Chambers and Evan Shimanek have been named Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes for Feb. 13-19.
Chambers, a senior from Clarendon, Jamaica, set the school record with a new top NAIA time in the 400 meters at 54.17 seconds, winning the event at the Nebraska Last Chance Tune-Up. She also anchored the 4x400 relay team that posted the best mark in the nation at 3:42.22. She placed second in the 200 meters at 25.73, which is the No. 3 mark in the NAIA this year.
Shimanek, a junior from Hennessey, Okla., cleared 12-6.75 to place second in the pole vault. Shimanek is the top-ranked pole vaulter in the NAIA.
