CHICKASHA - Coaches knew they had a winner when they recruited Kyle Hunt for the 2011-12 season, and Hunt proved them right, grabbing another honor this week: NAIA All-America First Team.

Hunt is one of only two players in the Sooner Athletic Conference to be named All-America First Team.


The 6-foot-10 senior averaged nearly 18 points a game, racking up a total of 499 on the season.
Additionally, he is fifth in the NAIA in total rebounds per game (10.6) and seventh in blocks per game (2.14). He is also 10th in total blocks with 60 on the season.


Sinking more than 50 percent of his shots, he is 15th in the division in field goal percentage (0.574).



He also leads the conference in double-doubles with 16, including one in the SAC Tournament match against No. 23 Southern Nazarene. In that game, Hunt scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds.


Hunt was named SAC Co-Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year this season. He is USAO's first All-America First Team player since Mike Williamson in 2002.



Before attending USAO, Hunt played for NCAA Division I Middle Tennessee State.

He is a criminal justice senior from Queens, N.Y.

He is the son of Derrick and Marva Hunt.
