CHICKASHA - After two winning seasons in a row, USAO Softball Head Coach Jenn White has announced that she's leaving the university to spend more time with her children and pursue teaching.

White has coached the softball program for three seasons.

"A lot of things happened over the last three years. Those things took a toll on her. She wasn't as committed as she thought she should have been," USAO Athletic Director Brisco McPherson said. "Everybody here was happy with the way she ran her program. She was a good fit for us. You hate to see anyone go who is an asset to our program, and she was that."
White made her announcement to players on Monday. The university will begin looking for another coach immediately.

"I decided it was time for me to go because it's not fair to the girls. My hearts not in it anymore," White said. "I am very grateful for the opportunity and the things I learned at USAO."

White plans to teach history at Tuttle Middle School. She said she and her children are excited to get more time together with the shorter commute and regular hours.

Under White, the Drovers have advanced to the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament the last two seasons and ended the 2012 season receiving votes nationally.

She collected a 75-84 record in her three seasons at USAO. The last two seasons saw winning records competing in the toughest conference in the league.

White coached four players to All-Conference honors, including sophomore Neesha Sorrell, who earned All-Conference honors two seasons in a row.
