Wayland Baptist University golfer Anders Ellingsberg has been named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar.
Ellingsberg, a junior economics/finance major from Drobak, Norway, is one of just 14 NAIA student athletes to receive the honor.
To be eligible, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 77.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient also must be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
In addition to 14 NAIA athletes, the award also was presented to 146 student athletes in NCAA Division I, 52 in Division II and 26 in Division III. The stroke-average for those honorees must be under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II and 79.0 in Division III.
