Janelle Redhead
LONDON -- Janelle Redhead, a member of last season's Wayland Baptist University track and field team, advanced to the semifinals of the women's 200 meters at the Olympics, but failed to qualify for the finals.
Redhead, competing for Grenada, qualified for the semifinals on Monday when she ran a time of 23.08 seconds to finish third in her round one heat. Today, Redhead ran a 23.51 to finish last in her heat.
Redhead, who is no longer a student at Wayland, holds the school record in the indoor 200 and 400 meters with times of 23.11 and 53.25, both established last year when Redhead was the NAIA indoor national champion in the 400.
