Oklahoma Baptist University's Kristin Pressley headlines the weekly Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball awards as Player of the Week for Oct. 1-7.
Pressley is joined by OBU teammates Skyler Strahm (Hitter of the Week), Gabby Samuels (Libero of the Week) and Wayland Baptist's Natasha Giacomazzi (Setter of the Week).
Pressley, a junior outside hitter from Mansfield, Texas, led the Lady Bison to a 3-0 week, including wins at Wayland Baptist and Lubbock Christian, to give OBU sole possession of first place in the SAC standings. She averaged 4.55 kills per set and had a 25-kill, 21-dig performance at Lubbock Christian. Pressley averaged 4.27 digs and added five aces, three assists and 1.5 blocks.
Strahm, a senior middle blocker from Royse City, Texas, averaged 3.91 kills and had a .434 attack percentage for the week. She had at least 13 kills in each match this week and also had 3.5 blocks for the week.
Samuels, a senior from Norman, Okla., averaged 3.45 digs per game for the week and had two aces in the win at LCU.
Giacomazzi, a junior from Canyon, Texas, had a 44-assist outing against Wiley College and helped the Pioneers to a 2-1 week with 10.6 assists per game. She also had 30 digs against Wiley and averaged 5.2 per game for the week.
