Natalie Wall
Rogers State forward Robin Sutherland continued her assault on the
record books and the Sooner Athletic Conference weekly soccer honors as
Player of the Week for the fifth week in a row.
John Brown goalkeeper Natalie Wall is the Women’s Defensive Player of the Week while Oklahoma City swept the men’s awards with Ryan Trudgian (Offensive Player of the Week) and Jordan Pfeiffer (Defensive Player of the Week) for Oct. 15-21.
Sutherland, a senior from Rogers, Ark., set the RSU single-game record with six goals in a match at Wayland Baptist, to go with one assist. She also had a goal in a win over Northwestern Oklahoma State. Sutherland, who leads the NAIA with 36 goals and 84 points, has established new SAC records in those categories.
Wall, a senior from Edmond, Okla., turned away 11 shots in a 1-0 road win at Oklahoma City to give JBU the regular season conference title. She also had a shutout against USAO in Chickasha for the 2-0 week.
Trudgian, a senior forward from Austell, England, turned in a hat trick with three goals against Mid-American Christian and then added two more in a 3-1 win over JBU.
Pfeiffer, a junior from Austin, Texas, had five saves against two goals in those two OCU wins.
