OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Jan. 25, 2008) – Oklahoma Christian University has hired Randall Robison as its new women’s head soccer coach. Robison comes to Oklahoma Christian from Westmoore High School, where he spent the last six seasons.
He twice coached the Oklahoma All-State teams while at Westmoore.
During his tenure at Westmoore, the Jaguars were 52-28-2. Robison’s teams recorded four straight 10-win seasons from 2004 to 2007.
Before taking the head post at Westmoore in 2002, Robison accumulated nearly 10 years of collegiate and high school experience as an assistant.
Robison helped guide the Tulsa Union High School girls to a 12-2-1 mark in 1993 and the Norman High School boys to a 12-1-1 record in 1995.
He helped the University of Oklahoma women’s soccer program get off the ground in 1996. The Sooners were co-Big 12 academic champions during Robison’s time in Norman from 1996 to 1999.
A native of Wagoner, Okla., the 37-year-old Robison graduated from Northeastern State University (Okla.) in 1993. Randall and his wife Ginger have been married 14 years and have two children, Blake (10) and Rachel (7).
“We’re very pleased and excited to have Randall head our women’s soccer program,” OC athletic director DeWayne Hall said. “Randall has proven he’s a winner at all levels, but more importantly, he has great character and values that he will share with our student-athletes.”
The Lady Eagles went 7-10-2 in 2007 after a 17-2-2 mark in 2006. The 2006 team went undefeated (16-0-2) in the regular season to win the Sooner Athletic Conference championship and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.
“I believe in tough defense. That is something I’ve always stressed to my teams,” Robison said. “This program has seen a lot of talented girls graduate, but there is no doubt that a great foundation is still here. Hopefully, we can put things together to get back to national tournament.”
