KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma City University's Daniela Wallen garnered her second consecutive nod as NAIA Division I women's basketball player of the week.

Wallen, a senior from Caracas, Venezuela, became the first back-to-back national player of the week since Ajha Edwards of Montana State-Northern on Dec. 29-Jan. 4 and Jan. 5-11, 2015.

From Dec. 5-11, Wallen supplied the Stars with 30.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 5.00 steals a game. She shot 61.4 percent from the field and 40 percent on 3-pointers as OCU won twice over Haskell (Kan.) to improve to 10-1. Wallen notched her seventh double-double of 2016-17 and 21st double-double in 39 career games with the Stars.

Wallen records 24.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 3.27 steals per game this season. She ranks in the NAIA's top 10 in scoring, points, thefts and steals per game. Wallen owns the past four Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week accolades. She became OCU's first NAIA player of the week award winner since 2004-05.

In 2016-17, Oklahoma City's Aminat Olowora took three NAIA women's cross country runner of the week honors and Alexandre Taiar racked up NAIA men's soccer offensive player of the week.

OCU hosts a showdown of teams ranked in the NAIA's top 15 this week. The ninth-ranked Stars face 14th-rated Benedictine (Kan.) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena. Watch the game live.
