OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City University softball team is hosting a 5K run on Saturday, March 18 to benefit the Children's Center Rehab Hospital in Bethany, Okla.

The run starts 8 a.m. with check-in beginning at 7 a.m. March 18 at Ann Lacy Stadium, 1709 NW 27th Street in Oklahoma City. There will be a pancake breakfast served following the run. Sign up to participate in the race or donate to the cause.

"Some of that stuff touches you when you realize how blessed you are," OCU coach Phil McSpadden said. "All you have to do is take a tour of that hospital. It's gratifying to feel like you could be any kind of part of someone's life who's not quite as blessed as you are."

People wanting to participate in the 5K can do so by paying a $25 entry fee and will receive a t-shirt. Those wishing to enter or pay on race day will have shirts ordered and sent to them.

Parking is available in the softball stadium parking lots on the north side of 27th Street between Kentucky and Florida Avenues.

The Children's Center Rehab Hospital, located at 6800 NW 39th Expressway in Bethany, offers a wide range of medical services, rehabilitative care and social services to children with complex medical needs.
