KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Abby Meador of No. 1-ranked Oklahoma City University secured NAIA softball pitcher of the week for April 3-9.

Meador, a junior from Midwest City, Okla., joined teammate Georgia Wall in becoming NAIA pitcher of the week this year. Wall took the honor for March 20-26.

During the week, Meador went 2-0 with 25 strikeouts in 11 innings while allowing four hits and no runs. Meador produced her second career no-hitter in an 8-0 win over Mid-America Christian on April 4 at Ann Lacy Stadium. She fanned 12 with two walks in five innings. Meador reeled in Sooner Athletic Conference pitcher of the week for the second consecutive week and ninth time in her OCU career.

Through Monday's games, Meador went 16-0 with a 0.60 earned run average, 112 strikeouts, 11 complete games and six shutouts in 82 innings. Oklahoma City ran its unbeaten record to 42-0 with 5-0 and 14-0 victories over Southwestern Christian on Monday in Bethany, Okla.

Meador became the fifth OCU student-athlete to gain weekly recognition from the NAIA in 2016-17.
