Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Kati Jo Gabaldon and Lubbock Christian
University’s Marissa Gonzalez have been named Sooner Athletic
Conference Softball Players of the Week for March 17-23.
Gabaldon, a junior center fielder from Belen, N.M., batted .714 for the week (5-7) with a triple, home run and seven RBI. She scored four times and carried a slugging percentage of 1.286 in two Lady Ranger wins.
Gonzalez, a senior from Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif., tossed her third no-hitter of the season – a perfect game against Dordt College, and also hung a loss on top-ranked California Baptist. She was 4-0 on the week with an 0.95 earned run average and 47 strikeouts in 22 innings.
