OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (May 6, 2008) – Bruno Buccolo of Oklahoma Christian University is one of five finalists for the prestigious Bryan Nelson Award presented by Cleveland Golf.
The award, which is sanctioned by the Golf Coaches Association of America, recognizes graduating seniors who display outstanding character, integrity and citizenship in similar ways to Mr. Byron Nelson.
A GCAA selection committee chose Buccolo along with Jonas Enander Hedin of Charlotte, Rob Grube of Stanford, Nathaniel James of Washington & Lee and Joseph Sykora of Alabama.
The Eagles will play at the NAIA National Championships on May 13-16 at the Indiana National Golf Club in Plymouth, Ind., in search of a ninth-straight top-four finish at the event.
Most recently, Buccolo was named a first-team All-Sooner Athletic Conference and All-NAIA Region VI after a third-place finish at the conference/region championships.
A finance major from Tandill, Argentina, Buccolo was also tabbed to the Jack Nicklaus Award watch list in April.
