Oklahoma Baptist picked up another couple of Sooner Athletic Conference
track and field championships Saturday, making it a record 13 straight
for the Lady Bison.

The OBU women scored 256 points, followed by Wayland Baptist with 187, Oklahoma Christian with 94, Southern Nazarene with 48, Oklahoma City with six and Lubbock Christian with four.
The Bison dominated with 295 points, followed by Wayland Baptist with 125.3, Oklahoma Christian with 109.3, Southern Nazarene with 59.3, Oklahoma City with 20 and Lubbock Christian with 1.
OBU's Jonathan Hilton captured the men's Outstanding Athlete award, while Oklahoma Christian thrower Denise Mattoon captured the honor for the women.
Matoon won the shot put (44-5), discus (134-5), hammer (172-4) and javelin (102-9) for a sweep of the throwing titles.
Hilton won the 110 hurdles (15.25), the high jump (6-2), the long jump (22-5), the javelin (174-5), was second in the pole vault (16-5) and third in the discus (126-4).
In all, there were 42 automatic qualifying standards reached in the meet.
Wayland Baptist's Kimberly Smith won the 100 meters in 11.57 seconds, followed by Bianca Grant of WBU at 12.16, Marissa Moseley of OBU at 12.17 and Kellisha Ross of WBU at 12.24 - all automatic qualifying marks.
Smith and Moseley finished first and second in the 200 meters, both with qualifying marks of 24.04 and 24.64.
Verone Chambers of OBU won the 400 meters, which had four qualifying times, in 54.08, followed by Moseley (55.31), OBU's Sarah Patterson at 57.01 and Southern Nazarene's Ester Congo at 57.13.
Chambers also won the 400 hurdles with a qualifying mark of 1:04.00.
Caroline Karunde of WBU won the 5000 with a qualifying mark of 18:00.72. Karunde won the 3000 meter steeplechase in 11:02.91, followed by automatic qualifier Natalie Pedersen of OBU at 11:15.70.
Wayland Baptist won the 4x100 relay in 47.30 and OBU was second at 48.57 - both qualifying marks.
OBU won the 4x400 at 3:49.47 and Wayland Baptist was second with a qualifying 3:54.41.
Nicole Cummings of OBU won the triple jump at 11.51 meters with Latanya Nation of WBU getting second with a qualifying mark of 11.50 meters.
OBU's Olivia Boisse was second to Mattoon in the hammer throw with a qualifying toss of 160-2.
Other SAC champions were WBU's Purity Biwott in the 800 (2:16.07) and 1500 (4:55.45); Nation in the 100 meter hurdles (14.91); OC's Charlotte Heron in the high jump (5-3.75); WBU's Bianca Grant in the long jump (5.57 meters); and the WBU 4x800 relay team (9:39.65).
On the men's side, OBU's Wit Williams met the qualifying standard with a 10.58 time in the 100 meters.
Four runners qualified in the 200 meters - Williams at 21.36, WBU's Jerry Lee Davis in second (21.50), OBU's Ethan Mignard in third (21.53) and Lee Provost of WBU in fourth (21.66).
Mignard won the 400 meters in a qualifying 47.53 seconds.
OC had two qualifiers in the 800 meters with Silas Kisoro (1:52.17) and Josh Wayland (1:52.51) going 1-2. Kisoro also won the 1500 meters in a qualifying 3:54.82.
OBU won the 4x100 relay in a qualifying time of 41.70 seconds.
Three 4x400 relay teams made the national standard. OBU won in 3:15.53, followed by Oklahoma City at 3:16.67 and Wayland Baptist at 3:16.73.
Three Bison qualified in the pole vault, led by Seth Brown's personal record 16-5.25. David Gilliland and Hilton tied for second at 15-9.
John Armstrong of OBU won the hammer throw with a qualifying distance of 172-5.
Other men's SAC champions were OC's Jordan Powell in the 5000 meters (15:06.72), OBU's Bradley Jimerson in the 400 hurdles (54.31), OBU's Brock Stoltzfus in the 3000 meter steeplechase (9:32.34); WBU's Lee Provost in the triple jump (12.91 meters), WBU's Brandon Mansfield in the shot put (45-5), Southern Nazarene's Dante Campbell in the discus (136-3); and the OBU 4x800 relay team (7:47.31).
