LCU Scheduled to be Recognized at College Baseball Awards Show

LUBBOCK, Texas (July 2, 2009) - The College Baseball Foundation hosts the College Baseball Awards Show at 6 p.m. Thursday night at the United Spirit Arena, and Lubbock Christian University's NAIA National Championship winning baseball program will be recognized during the program.

leLCU baseball head coach Nathan Blackwood is scheduled to speak on behalf of the NAIA title winning program. The Chaps went 52-8 this season, claiming their second NAIA title in program history and the first since 1983. The premise of the awards show is to honor awards to the best college baseball players in the nation with six individual awards, which include the Dick Howser Player of the Year, the CBF Pitcher of the Year, the Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award, the Johnny Bench Award for the best catcher and the NCBWA Coach and Stopper of the Year.
