SAC Player of the Year David Otieno

David Otieno of USAO headed up the Sooner Athletic Conference's All-SAC Men's Soccer team as Player and Newcomer of the Year, it was announced Saturday.
Otieno, a junior midfielder from Nairobi, Kenya, led the Drovers with 24 goals and added nine assists for 57 points, helping Coach of the Year Jimmy Hampton's squad to the SAC title with a 17-1-1 overall record.
Oklahoma City's Alex Gang, a junior forward from Seoul, South Korea, was named Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 22 goals and recording two assists.
Kenton Farris of Southern Nazarene was named Goalkeeper of the Year. The sophomore from Sherman, Texas, had 78 saves on the year.
Oklahoma Christian defender Ryan Frampton, a senior from Moore, Okla., was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Farris, Frampton, Gang and Otieno, along with Oklahoma City's Andy Fitzpatrick, Chris Spendlove, John Dill, Stuart Hilton and Luke Garvey; Southern Nazarene's Ryan Allen and Mike Bray, Oklahoma Christian's Ryan Fernandes, Mid-America Christian's Andrew Webster, and Oklahoma Baptist's Victor Costa made the All-SAC First Team.
The Second Team included Tim Spencer of Oklahoma Christian, Sean Surridge, Enrique Souza and Dez Fitzgerald of Rogers State, Aiden Ashmore and Niall Crick of USAO, J.P Hanger, Isaac Juarez and Eric Ouedraogo of Southern Nazarene, Steven Short of Oklahoma City, Joel Thomas, Gabriel Duarte and Juan Iraola of John Brown, and Igor Manfro of St. Gregory's.
