LCU's Alyssa Gutierrez and Kim Frazier
Lubbock Christian teammates Kim Frazier and Alyssa Gutierrez picked up the season's first Sooner Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 15-21.
Frazier, a sophomore infielder from Buena Park, Calif., hit at least one home run in all six LCU games on the week, finishing with eight home runs and 26 RBI. She batted .652 with a 1.783 slugging percentage in leading the Lady Chaps to the Cowtown Classic championship. She twice broke the school record of six RBI in a game, getting eight against Graceland and seven against Sterling, getting four hits in both of those games. She also had 14 runs and two doubles.
Gutierrez, a senior from Norwalk, Calif., tossed a no-hitter against Northwestern Oklahoma State and also recorded a shutout among two wins over No. 15 Houston-Victoria. She was 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA and 11 strikeouts on the week.
